Fake-sale detector
If the crossed-out "was" price is more than 10% above the highest price in the store's 90-day price history from shoppers and our checks, Prysly says so. A verdict needs at least 5 recorded prices.
Prysly checks a sale against the product's price history from shoppers and our own checks, calls out inflated "was" prices, and shows cheaper offers at other South African stores with the standard delivery fee from our store data (may differ at checkout).

Store links in the Prysly card may include affiliate links; when a store pays us a commission, the offer is labelled. Prysly never rewrites other links, and a pricier offer never ranks above a cheaper one. Read the disclosure.

Yes. Prysly is free to install and use. Store links in the Prysly card may include affiliate links: when a store pays us a commission, the offer is labelled, and the store may pay Prysly a small commission if you buy after clicking it. You pay the same price either way.
It compares the page with the prices it has recorded for that product at that store over the last 90 days. It needs at least 5 recorded prices before it judges. If the "was" price is more than 10% above the highest recorded price, the verdict is Inflated 'was' price. If today's price is at least 10% below the usual (median) price, it's a Real deal. Otherwise it's a Normal price. Open "Why this verdict?" in the card to see the reason.
From two sources: prices that shoppers' extensions see when they open a product page, and Prysly's own checks of product pages, about every 12 hours for products someone viewed in the last 7 days, on Makro, Incredible, HiFi Corp, Superbalist, Dis-Chem, Hirsch's, Baby City, Computer Mania, Exclusive Books, Evetech, Woolworths, Digital Experience, Loot, Sportsmans Warehouse, CTM, Italtile, Chamberlain, Adendorff Machinery Mart, Tile Africa, Brights Hardware, Cashbuild, Mica, The Lighting Warehouse and ACDC Dynamics. Takealot, Amazon.co.za, Game, Bash, Checkers, Shoprite, Clicks, Pick n Pay, Mr Price, Faithful to Nature and Leroy Merlin prices come from shoppers only, because Prysly doesn't read those stores' pages itself. Unusual price jumps are only trusted once they're confirmed.
Yes, as an estimate. Offers are ranked by price plus the standard delivery fee from our store data (may differ at checkout). Delivery can depend on your address and order, so your final cost is always what the store shows at checkout.

No. There's no account, no cookies and no profile of you: the server uses a daily anonymous code instead of your IP address (our hosting provider may keep standard request logs). Prysly never sells or rents information or shares it with advertisers. It only reads product details on product pages of the 35 supported stores. See the privacy policy for exactly what is sent and how long it's kept.
Never. Prysly doesn't touch the store's page or any of its links. It only adds its own small card, and only the links inside that card go through Prysly. Read the affiliate disclosure.
Prysly lists up to five cheaper offers: cheaper in total, in stock, and from a listing it has a confirmed price for. If none qualify, there's nothing to show yet, and every visit helps build the picture.
Prysly links the same product across stores by its barcode or model number. Some stores don't show either, so some products may not be matched across stores yet; we're working on matching those too.
